South WestAustraliaBee hIvesGuided Hive & Honey Tour
[ OVERVIEW ]Step into the fascinating world of the honeybee. Bees are among the hardest-working creatures on the planet, and a single hive can be home to tens of thousands of them, all working together with remarkable precision.
Suited up in protective gear, you'll join a guide at the hives to see a working colony up close. You'll learn how a hive is organised, from the queen to the workers and drones, how bees communicate, and how they turn nectar into honey. Weather and hive conditions permitting, you may watch a frame being lifted from the hive, spot the queen, and see the honeycomb as it fills.

We’ll provide a bee suit, veil and gloves, so you just need to dress comfortably underneath. We recommend:
Long pants and a long-sleeved top in light colours, as bees are calmer around light shades and less curious about pale clothing
Closed-toe shoes or boots, ideally with socks pulled up over your pant legs
Hair tied back if it’s long, so it sits neatly under the veil
