South West AustraliaHighlandsHighland Cow Experience WA
[ OVERVIEW ]Meet one of the world's most recognisable and gentle cattle breeds up close. Originally from the rugged Scottish Highlands, these cattle are known for their long, shaggy coats, sweeping horns and calm, curious nature.
During the experience, you'll head out into the paddock with a guide to meet the herd, learn about their history and how they've adapted to harsh climates, and hear the personalities and quirks of each animal. Depending on the herd's mood, you may get the chance to hand-feed them, give them a brush and snap a few photos with their famous fringes.

Your Highland Cow Experience includes:
A guided visit to the paddock with one of our team, who’ll introduce you to our Highland cows and their individual personalities
Hand-feeding the herd with treats we provide
Brushing and getting up close with our gentlest cows, who love a good scratch
The story of the breed, from their Scottish origins to why their shaggy coats suit life on the farm
Plenty of time for photos, so bring your camera
-
Dress for a day on the farm. We recommend:
Closed-toe shoes or boots, as the paddock can be muddy, uneven or home to the odd cow pat
Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, since our cows are friendly and a little shaggy, and dust, mud and hair tend to come along for the ride
A hat and insect repellent on warmer days, as the paddock has limited shade
A warm layer or rain jacket in the cooler months
We’d suggest leaving loose scarves, dangling jewellery and anything precious at the cabin, as curious cows have been known to give them a nibble.
